Selle!

Selle!

Seat at last
Once again under direct management the seat pans underwent repainting and applying the foam.
To take the proper measures of later it took us 1hour on the bikes anlong with checking with available pics. Would dare saying they come close to orig.
Now one last check on the bikes and the seats are another checked item on the list.
Oh, this might be step no 9875 on the initial "10000 easy steps" list.

Ancora MB 24 A

MB 24 A

Carbs, again!

MB 24 A is the Dell’Orto mounted on the ’70 Bajas.
A model that was quite common on many bikes of that vintage.
So, both showed the following tuning items:
Hgh speed jet 99
Low speed jet 50
Float 5g
Main nozzle 260
Throttle piston 70
Metering pin E1 set to second slot

One Dell’Orto manual states the same as above with the high speed jet as 105.

The Harley service man mentions only the high speed jet at 99.

So  we should be fine on this one.

Now all is missing is tanks and seats.

Fascette

Clips?
Sorry folks my technical English goes only so far.
I am talking about those metal strips that fix the electrical cable to the frame and handlebar who ends up un the engine stop switch.
Found them at the Novegro market. No other way.
Rusted, painted.

Next step? Finding the original or close to it gas pipe and its circlip.
Both look like mission impossible, But that is where the challenge is.

Oh, the pic does it or not look like an Andy Warhol kind of stuff?

Sembra bello.
Verrà montato sto fine sett.
Grazie Giuseppe!

The Bowl Cover arrived!
Looks good inclusive of gaskets and carb tuning guide.
Will be installed this week end.
Thanks Giuseppe!

Serbatoio gruviera

Gruviera (vedi prima foto).
Lamiera in genere compromessa.

Supercompromised Gas Tank

The tank of the second Baja was seriously compromised (see first pic). Some former owner did put some foam/sponge between tank and frame in addition of the original rubber. Result not less than 10 holes the size you find in Swiss cheese.
The tank should have really ended up in a scrap yard.
But these tanks are nearly impossible to find.
So it went to an artisan whom I’d love seeing in MotoVarese.

A week and the thing is back and looks fine and the rest is in the trustworthy hands of Mentasti (another candidate for MotoVarese).
