Vernice marmitta

Porc,non lo sapevo e nessuno me lo ha detto.
Le strabilianti vernici da 800º che usano oggi per le marmitte sono bellissime ma hanno il difetto di sciogliersi al contatto con benzina o altri diluenti fino a che non sono cotte.
Cotte a quanti gradi non si sa. Certo che i 180º del forno di vericiatura non bastano. E per quanto tempo neppure. Forse fino al grippaggio del motore.
Avrei pensato a segarle a metà e metterle nel microonde.
Se andate a vedere il casino che é riuscito a combinare il CTO nel video avete la possibilità di capire che cosa é successo.

Exhaust paint

Nobody told me and I did not kow.
The super sophisticated 800º paints used for painting exhausts today have to be sprayed, then put to 180º to be handled.
But then beware of getting them in touch with gasoline or other solvents.
Following instructions they have to be burned in.
No hint given of how long and at what temperature.
And since Baja is a 2stroke and the max temp at the exhaust port is of -my guess- 400º how the heck am I going to burn that paint in?
Oh, and sure, if you kook at the first “fire up” you may see of how S… happens.

Yes, traces of that super paint are now on my trousers.

Perdite?

Smontato pulito e riassemblato carter con le guarnizioni di carta vecchie e riempito con benza.
Trovato qualche biscottino et violá: perdite compensabili tranquillamente con guarnizioni nuove e sigillante.
La foto mostra i carter assemblati con dentro al benza.
Oh, per riassemblare manca solo(!) una serie guarnizioni.

Leaks?
Disassembled, cleaned and reassembled with old gaskets. Found some issues.
Filled with gas.
Minor leaks which will be gone once new gaskets and sealant are used.
Pic shows the engines filled with gas to test leakage. No smoking alowed!
Now all what is missing is a series of engine gaskets.
